Miskolc
Miskolc is located on the eastern side of the Bükk Mountains, in the valleys of Szinva, Hejő and Sajó. The exceptional beauty of the city is also due to its wonderful location.
The area is one of the oldest inhabited areas in Europe.
The settlement, built at the confluence of different regions along important trade routes, was a trading town as early as the Middle Ages, and in 1365 it received city status from King Louis the Great. After the Turkish occupation, industry also started to develop.
During the socialist period, it lived in the public consciousness as one of the most important industrial cities in Hungary.
Its main attractions include the Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca, the castle in Diósgyőr, the Palace Hotel in Lillafüred and the National Theater in Miskolc, the pedestrian street in Széchenyi, the church in Avas, the Deszkat Church, the Otto Herman Museum, the Miskolc Zoo and the Cultural Park
As the leading city in the region, it also performs the corresponding functions; university city, the economic and cultural center of the county and its surroundings
